NSO delivers top-tier interior for World’s First Ultra-Large 45,000 ton cargo capacity Ocean Engineering Vessel!
We’re thrilled to announce a ground breaking achievement in maritime engineering! NSO has successfully delivered state-of-the-art interior for the “WINDPIPER” (Project MW301-1). Built by Mawei Shipbuilding for the prestigious BOSKALIS of the Netherlands, this ultra-large ocean engineering ship was officially handed over on May 21, 2025, with celebrations extending into May 22 in Shandong.
Measuring an impressive 227 m in length, 40 m in width, 18.2 m in depth, and a 13.2 m draft, this vessel shatters previous records with a cargo capacity surpassing 45,000 tons. Powered by an astonishing 853,000 kW electric system and equipped with seven advanced thrusters utilizing an enhanced DP2 dynamic positioning system, it showcases unmatched precision and safety—even under extreme sea conditions. Moreover, it meets the highest international standards for safety and environmental protection, setting a new benchmark in green ship technology.
Beyond its cutting-edge performance, “WINDPIPER” offers unparalleled onboard comfort. The crew’s living quarters span nine decks, complete with a variety of accommodation options (suites, single, double, and quadruple cabins), a restaurant seating 200, a fitness center, meeting rooms, entertainment halls, medical facilities, and more—ensuring a perfect blend of work, rest, and leisure at sea.
This project is a testament to our relentless commitment to excellence. With meticulous attention to every detail—from initial design to final delivery—NSO has set the stage for a new era in interior maritime innovation. Our vision remains bold: to become the most respected global leader in our industry by putting customers at the heart of everything we do.
