JANA 510, a 200-person intelligent jack-up offshore operations support platform designed and built by Wuhan Marine Machinery, has completed commissioning and delivery at the Haixi Heavy Machinery wharf in Qingdao. Classed by ABS, it integrates DP-2 dynamic positioning, cybersecurity and SCR, and builds on the proven design of its series.
JANA 510 is the latest in a series. NSO also completed the interiors for JANA 506 and JANA 509, making this the third platform in the line to be fitted out by the same team.

Third in the series
Delivering one well-finished platform shows capability. Delivering three in a series shows consistency. Across JANA 506, 509 and 510, NSO has carried the same interior EPC approach from one hull to the next, refining the specification as the design matured. For the owner and the yard, that means a team that already knows the platform, the standards and the interfaces, so each new delivery starts further along than the last.
NSO approached the interior through ceilings, walls, floors and furniture. Custom ceilings and downlighting open up enclosed spaces. Fabric wall coverings and artwork add depth. Zoned flooring, including wood-grain finishes and custom carpets, reduces noise and dust. Furniture was designed and sized for the space and for offshore use. The result is a living area that is visually unified, clearly zoned and still meets the practical standard of an offshore oilfield workplace.

Platforms like JANA 510 are built for sustained, round-the-clock work offshore, which puts the accommodation under constant use. Crew comfort is becoming an operational consideration and not an afterthought, because the people living on board are the ones keeping the project running. The spaces on JANA 510 reflect that: meeting rooms and reception areas that work as professional environments, and facilities such as a prayer room that reflect multinational, multicultural crews. A series also lets crew-focused design improve over time, because what works in one platform’s accommodation can be carried into the next.

“On a platform where 200 people live and work for weeks at a time, the accommodation is part of the operating system. When the people on board rest well, meet in proper spaces and feel looked after, the whole project benefits. We’re seeing owners building in China ask for that standard from the start, and the yards and suppliers are delivering” Ian Chen, Market Development Manager, NSO
NSO thanks Wuhan Marine Machinery, Haixi Heavy Machinery and all partners for their close coordination. NSO will continue to build high-quality products and premium interior projects that help China’s high-end offshore equipment go international.
